Wigan (/ˈwɪɡən/ WIG-ən) is a large town in Greater Manchester, England. It is situated on the River Douglas, 10 miles (16 km) south-west of Bolton, 12 miles (19 km) north of Warrington and 17 miles (27.4 km) west-northwest of Manchester.
